Registered Nurse First Assistant - RNFA
Location: Bakersfield, California
Start Date: 06-22-2026
End Date: 09-28-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM start with variable end times, plus rotating call coverage including weekends
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $98 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons as directed during a wide range of procedures
- Provide first-assist support across ortho, robotics, neuro, GYN, and more
- Scrub in and maintain sterile technique throughout each case
- Float between campuses as needed to support the OR team
- Respond to call within 30 minutes to ensure continuous patient care
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proven experience in ortho, robotics, neuro, and GYN specialties
- RNFA certification and scrubbing experience
- Comfortable with Cerner EMR documentation
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of robotic systems including DaVinci
- Familiarity with a broad range of surgical procedures
- Excellent sterile technique and OR protocols
- Ability to adapt quickly to varying case lengths and needs
- Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
