Location: Bay City, MI

Contract Type: Perm

Shift Type: Daytime clinic and endoscopy schedule (typical daytime hours); shared call coverage 1:3 with hospitalist support; inpatient ERCP/EUS coverage as needed

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform and provide expert care in ERCP and EUS procedures to diagnose and treat complex GI conditions
Deliver high-quality ambulatory endoscopy services in the new endoscopy surgery center
Manage inpatient endoscopy consults and procedures at the single-hospital service
Collaborate closely with hospitalists and local colorectal surgeons to coordinate patient care
Participate in shared call coverage (1:3) and ensure smooth transitions of care
Document patient encounters and procedures using Cerner EMR for clear, timely communication

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology (required)
Clinical experience and demonstrated ability in ERCP and EUS (specialization required)
Experience with ambulatory endoscopy and inpatient endoscopy workflows
Eligible for/holds an active Michigan medical license and DEA registration (or willing to obtain)
Comfortable using Cerner EMR for clinical documentation and workflow

Education

MD or DO with completed Gastroenterology fellowship; Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology

Knowledge & Skills

Advanced endoscopic skills including ERCP and EUS
Strong procedural efficiency and patient flow management in ambulatory surgery center settings
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (hospitalists, colorectal surgeons)
Familiarity with Cerner EMR and clinical documentation best practices
On-call management and inpatient consultation skills
