Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans.
• Conduct thorough interview-based evaluations to document history and functional limitations.
• Execute focused physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
• Complete timely, accurate medical documentation and reports, including any required addendums.
• Review diagnostic information and provide clear medical opinions as needed.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all evaluations; no prescribing or treatment is performed.
• Coordinate with credentialing/onboarding teams to meet site and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• MD or DO (physician) required.
• Active medical license in the state of practice or ability to obtain state licensure (Kentucky for these openings).
• Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine preferred.
• Experience with Compensation & Pension exams or medicolegal/administrative medical evaluations is a strong plus.
• Excellent documentation skills and comfort completing reports and addendums after patient encounters.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel within a 50-mile radius of assigned sites.
• Willingness to complete required training and credentialing prior to patient evaluations.

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
• Residency training in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, or equivalent clinical experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in interview-based examination techniques and eliciting functional histories.
• Proficient with range of motion and muscle strength testing methods.
• Strong medical documentation and report-writing capabilities.
• Comfortable reading diagnostics and integrating findings into medical opinions.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to complete follow-up administrative work reliably.
• Clear communicator with Veterans and administrative teams.
