Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform CT studies and X-ray exams (including operating in the OR when needed) to support Level II trauma services
• Provide MRI imaging for heads and spines to assist neurosurgeons with critical surgical planning
• Operate imaging equipment safely and accurately, delivering high-quality diagnostic images every time
• Document exams and patient care in EPIC promptly and clearly to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with radiology, surgical, and nursing teams to ensure timely imaging for urgent and scheduled cases
• Adhere to hospital infection control and appearance policies (including fingernail policy) to maintain patient safety
• Maintain equipment checks, routine QA, and assist with workflow improvements to keep the unit running smoothly

Qualifications

• Current CT certification required
• Current X-ray certification required (OR radiography experience preferred)
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• MRI certification is optional but, if held, requires at least 2 years of experience
• Minimum 2 years of imaging experience (as noted in the job posting)
• Valid driver’s license required at submittal (used to verify 50-mile radius eligibility)
• Candidates may not be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-associated facility (including CHI or Dignity)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in CT, X-ray and radiography techniques
• MRI imaging knowledge, especially Heads and Spines protocols (for limited-use MRI coverage)
• Experience with EPIC charting/documentation systems
• Comfort working in a Level II trauma environment and supporting emergent imaging needs
• Ability to function independently during night shifts and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with OR imaging procedures is a plus
