Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead surveillance, analysis, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections to protect patients and staff
• Develop and implement evidence-based infection prevention policies aligned with Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, and CDC standards
• Educate and train staff, patients, and visitors on infection control best practices across the entire health system
• Collect and trend infection data, prepare reports for NHSN and regulatory agencies, and support performance improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with the Infection Prevention & Control Committee and cross-train to support department needs
• Travel to various SEARHC sites to assess, educate, and ensure consistent infection prevention practices

Qualifications

• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Microbiology, or related healthcare field
• Minimum 3 years of acute care, infection control, data collection, or performance improvement experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with basic statistics and epidemiological principles
• Master's degree (MPH, MSN) and CPHQ certification preferred
• Long-term care IPC experience a plus

Education

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field (Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Microbiology, or similar)
• Master's in healthcare-related field (MPH, MSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expert knowledge of infection prevention and control standards from CDC, OSHA, FDA, TJC, and APIC
• Strong skills in data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting
• Ability to develop policies and procedures that meet regulatory and accreditation requirements
• Excellent communication and education skills for diverse audiences
• Collaborative mindset with experience serving on committees and leading IPC initiatives
