Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
- Take and record vital signs, monitor changes, and report concerns promptly to nursing staff
- Support patients with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with the care team to create a warm, safe, and respectful environment
- Assist with feeding and hydration, and observe for changes in intake or condition
- Follow infection control policies and facility procedures to protect patients and staff
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification/license (required) — state-specific validity expected
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfort with direct patient care and physical tasks associated with the role
- Clear background check and ability to meet facility immunization/TB screening requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient care and ADLs
- Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with patients and team members
- Dependable time management and documentation habits
