Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients
• Assess, triage and prioritize incoming patients quickly and accurately
• Initiate and manage emergency interventions, including IVs, medications and cardiac monitoring
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and support staff to coordinate timely patient care
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up plans
• Respond effectively to life-threatening situations and support resuscitation efforts
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Alabama) — compact license holders welcome if applicable
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS highly preferred
• Emergency Department experience preferred; confidence in triage and acute care skills
• Proven ability to work 12-hour night shifts (Wednesdays and Fridays as scheduled)
• Strong clinical assessment, IV/med administration and cardiac monitoring skills
• Successful completion of background check, drug screen and required immunizations

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current RN licensure and required certifications (BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills for rapid decision-making
• IV therapy, medication administration and documentation best practices
• Cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia recognition and ACLS protocols
• Trauma care fundamentals and wound management
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
