Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-acuity emergency care for oncology patients in a specialized ED pod, prioritizing safety and dignity
• Perform rapid, accurate triage and manage patient flow to keep the unit running smoothly
• Initiate and maintain IVs, administer emergency medications and manage IV vasopressors as needed
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias; obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs promptly
• Manage respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and care for ventilated patients when required
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation and apply findings to patient care
• Provide blood product administration and central line care while following strict isolation/PPE protocols
• Document thoroughly in EPIC and collaborate with respiratory, pharmacy, radiology and rapid response teams

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required (HARD STOP)
• EPIC charting experience is required
• Certifications required/expected: BCLS (BLS), ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Proficiency with IV starts, telemetry monitoring, cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Ability to float to other areas of the department as needed and adapt to a fast-paced ED environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Department clinical skills and triage
• IV therapy, phlebotomy and blood product administration
• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• 12-lead EKG acquisition and interpretation
• Ventilator care and ABG interpretation
• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic charting
• Isolation precautions and PPE best practices
