Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility
- Take and record vital signs and accurately document resident observations
- Support nursing staff and administration by communicating resident needs and changes promptly
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control policies
- Assist with admissions, transfers and discharge processes as needed
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families, offering respectful, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (appropriate for New York state)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable with direct resident care and documentation
- Ability to pass background check, TB screening and required health clearances
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of resident care practices and activities of daily living
- Familiarity with basic charting and documentation standards
- Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition
- Strong interpersonal skills and empathy when interacting with residents and families
- Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
