Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility
• Take and record vital signs and accurately document resident observations
• Support nursing staff and administration by communicating resident needs and changes promptly
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control policies
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharge processes as needed
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families, offering respectful, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (appropriate for New York state)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable with direct resident care and documentation
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening and required health clearances
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of resident care practices and activities of daily living
• Familiarity with basic charting and documentation standards
• Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy when interacting with residents and families
• Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
