Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms and ensure sterile field integrity for each case
• Pass instruments and supplies efficiently to support surgeons and improve patient outcomes
• Perform instrument counts and document procedures with accuracy and attention to detail
• Assist the perioperative team with patient positioning, prepping, and draping
• Maintain and sterilize instruments and equipment between cases to hospital standards
• Communicate proactively with nurses, surgeons, and anesthesia to coordinate smooth case flow

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent training preferred
• CST certification preferred; on-the-job experience as a Surgical Technologist welcomed
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required or obtained upon hire
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and any facility credentialing checks
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and ability to thrive in fast-paced OR environments

Education

• Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program preferred
• High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

• Sterile technique and infection control best practices
• Familiarity with common surgical instruments and trays
• Understanding of perioperative workflow and case turnover processes
• Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and act proactively
• Basic familiarity with electronic documentation and OR scheduling systems
