Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate Med/Surg nursing care to adult patients in a hospital setting
• Perform comprehensive assessments and document patient status clearly
• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and hospital policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and implement patient-centered care plans
• Monitor patient progress and escalate changes in condition promptly
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate, timely charting and follow infection control standards

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (Alabama or compact license as applicable)
• Clinical experience or coursework in Med/Surg nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications a plus
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively on a hospital team
• Comfortable with electronic charting and standard hospital equipment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing fundamentals and adult patient care
• Familiarity with medication administration and IV therapy
• Ability to perform accurate patient assessments and prioritize care
• Good clinical judgment, time management, and documentation skills
• Team-oriented approach and the ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff
