Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to med-surg patients
Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
Document patient care in the medical record clearly and timely

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact license where applicable)
Experience or training in medical-surgical nursing (Med/Surg)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications encouraged
Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and practices
Medication administration and IV therapy skills
Patient assessment and clinical observation skills
Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation best practices
Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
Time management and prioritization in a 12-hour shift environment
