Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg patients with confidence and clinical skill
• Perform thorough assessments and communicate changes in condition promptly to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while following facility protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and support staff to develop and execute patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, post-discharge care and recovery expectations
• Document care thoroughly and accurately in the patient record to ensure continuity
• Participate actively in unit-based process improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license for Louisiana
• Med/Surg clinical experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working 12.5-hour shifts and contributing to a fast-paced team
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
• Ability to pass facility onboarding and any required background/health screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Skilled in patient assessment, wound care and medication administration
• Familiarity with IV therapy and common inpatient procedures
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Strong prioritization, critical thinking and teamwork skills
• Ability to de-escalate situations and provide patient education with empathy
