Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients, responding swiftly to changes in condition
• Administer medications and titrate infusions safely and accurately
• Manage ventilators and provide advanced respiratory support in collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Perform and interpret hemodynamic monitoring and other critical care assessments
• Document patient care clearly and thoroughly in the medical record
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans
• Provide compassionate patient and family education and support during high-stress situations
• Participate in rapid response and code situations as a confident critical care provider

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Alabama RN or compact-state eligible
• Experience working in an ICU or critical care environment
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required prior to start)
• Comfort with ventilator management, vasoactive drips, and critical care monitoring
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively on a fast-paced team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and prioritization
• Ventilator management and respiratory support
• Hemodynamic monitoring and titration of cardiac/vasoactive medications
• IV therapy, central line care, and arterial line management
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking in high-acuity situations
• Clear, timely documentation and effective interdisciplinary communication
