Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality critical care to ICU patients, monitoring condition and responding to changes quickly
• Administer medications and therapies safely and accurately, following protocols and provider orders
• Operate and monitor advanced life support and ICU equipment to maintain patient stability
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and update patient care plans
• Educate patients and families about condition, care plans, and discharge needs with clarity and empathy
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses thoroughly in the medical record
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license (ability to hold or obtain Louisiana RN licensure)
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification required or obtainable upon hire
• Prior ICU or critical care experience (preferred) and comfort managing complex patients
• Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills in high-acuity situations
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team and communicate clearly

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of critical care principles and protocols
• Skilled in patient assessment, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator basics
• Proficient in safe medication administration and titration of infusions
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting timely, accurate notes
• Excellent prioritization, multitasking, and crisis resource management
