Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Perform comprehensive assessments and continuously monitor patient status
• Administer medications, manage ventilators and advanced monitoring devices safely
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Respond immediately to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency interventions
• Document care accurately and communicate effectively with patients' families and the care team
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required for the state of Louisiana
• Critical care/ICU experience preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred or required per facility
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in high-acuity settings
• Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary ICU team and communicate clearly
• Comfort with advanced monitoring, ventilator management, and critical care protocols

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of critical care nursing principles and best practices
• Familiarity with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medications
• Proficient documentation and electronic medical record skills
• Excellent prioritization, triage and time-management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient/family communication and teamwork
