Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered critical care to adults in an ICU setting
• Perform continuous assessment and monitoring; recognize and act on changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and titrate drips safely and according to protocol
• Operate and troubleshoot advanced equipment including ventilators and hemodynamic monitors
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to plan and deliver care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in the medical record
• Respond rapidly to emergency situations and participate in code response as needed
• Support and educate patients and their families with compassion and clear communication

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license (meets state licensure requirements for Hawaii)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification preferred or required by the facility
• ICU clinical experience preferred; previous critical care experience is highly valued
• Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced critical care environments and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Immunizations and health requirements per facility policy

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Experience with ventilator management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Skilled in IV medication administration, titration, and central line care
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload, and maintain composure in emergencies
