Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ED setting
• Triage, assess, and stabilize patients of all ages presenting with acute conditions
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute patient plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care with compassion and clarity
• Maintain readiness for emergency procedures and participate in resuscitation/trauma responses

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be licensed or eligible in Louisiana
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) strongly preferred
• Prior Emergency Department (ED/ER) experience preferred; strong acute care skills a plus
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and perform well under pressure
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-focused attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills; rapid clinical decision-making
• IV insertion, medication administration, and basic procedural skills
• Familiarity with EKG interpretation and common ED diagnostics
• Strong documentation practices and comfort with electronic medical records
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and handle high-acuity patients
