Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults in a behavioral health setting
• Perform behavioral health assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic response and side effects
• Use de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention to maintain a safe environment
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate holistic care
• Educate patients and families on coping strategies, discharge planning, and resources
• Participate in orientation and unit-based training to maintain high-quality care standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligibility in New Hampshire or compact RN licensure as applicable)
• Experience or interest in Behavioral Health nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained upon hire
• Strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and teamwork skills
• Willingness to participate in unit orientation and ongoing professional development

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or equivalent experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Behavioral health assessment and crisis intervention skills
• De-escalation and therapeutic communication techniques
• Safe medication administration practices and monitoring
• Electronic charting and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Awareness of safety protocols and patient-centered care principles
