Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to individuals in behavioral health settings
• Assess and monitor mental health status and clinical indicators, documenting changes clearly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Use therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques during crises
• Educate patients and families on care plans, coping strategies, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New Hampshire license preferred or compact RN where applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional behavioral health certifications a plus
• Experience working with behavioral health populations preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and medication administration skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and during high-stress situations
• Willingness to complete required background checks and onboarding paperwork

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Completion of accredited nursing program and active RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of psychiatric and behavioral health nursing principles and best practices
• Proficiency with medication administration and monitoring
• Skilled in de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention
• Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR) for documentation
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
• Ability to prioritize care and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
