Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents with dignity and respect
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe transfers and fall prevention practices during night shifts
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident observations
• Collaborate with team members to create a calm, comfortable environment for residents
• Follow infection control policies and facility procedures consistently

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) in good standing
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Comfort working night shifts and providing hands-on resident care
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous long-term care or geriatric experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a state-recognized GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with geriatric care principles and dignity-focused support
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation skills
• Ability to observe, triage, and escalate clinical concerns appropriately
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills for resident engagement
• Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
