Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes promptly
• Support mobility and transfer assistance while following safety protocols to prevent falls
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to residents
• Document care and observations clearly in resident charts and communicate with the nursing team
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Participate in care plan updates and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to meet resident needs

Qualifications

• GNA certification or completion of an approved geriatric nursing assistant program
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to resident care
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently on per diem assignments

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of GNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Resident-centered care and principles of geriatric nursing
• Assisting with ADLs and safe patient handling techniques
• Basic vital signs measurement and infection control practices
• Accurate charting and familiarity with electronic or paper care documentation
• Time management, teamwork, and effective communication with residents and families
• Awareness of HIPAA and resident privacy standards
