Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, helping with activities of daily living
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and mobility support to promote independence
• Maintain accurate care documentation and follow facility protocols
• Support mealtime assistance and feeding for residents who need help
• Create a warm, respectful environment that preserves resident dignity

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to pass background checks and any facility-required health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and respectful elder care
• Basic infection control and safety practices
• Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during shifts
• Comfortable with lifting/transfer assistance techniques and mobility aids
