Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Provide safe patient transfers and mobility assistance, using proper body mechanics
• Take and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
• Support nutrition and hydration needs during meal and snack times
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Communicate compassionately with residents and families, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
• Document care accurately and timely in resident records

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• Prior experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations is a plus
• Comfortable working night shifts and flexible per diem schedules
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Able to pass standard pre-employment screenings and vaccinations as required by the facility

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Familiarity with safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Ability to take accurate vital signs and observe/report changes
• Good documentation habits and attention to detail
• Compassionate bedside manner and the ability to build rapport quickly
• Teamwork and the ability to follow care plans and nursing direction
