Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assist residents with activities of daily living, ensuring dignity and respect
• Monitor residents and promptly report changes in condition to the nursing team
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Document care accurately and timely to support quality, coordinated care
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment with strong infection control practices
• Collaborate with nurses and support staff to deliver person-centered care and contribute to a positive team culture

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in Alabama or eligibility to obtain state certification
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and providing hands-on resident care
• Strong communication skills, patience, and a compassionate approach
• Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred; new grads who meet certification requirements are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Understanding of infection control, safety protocols, and resident rights
• Familiarity with basic charting and documentation or willingness to learn electronic systems
• Ability to follow care plans, take direction, and work collaboratively in a team
