Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients to improve mobility, function, and strength using evidence-based interventions
• Design and implement individualized rehabilitation programs that make a real difference in patients' lives
• Use the facility Electronic Medical Record to complete evaluations, progress notes, reports, and discharge summaries with accuracy and timeliness
• Supervise, guide, and mentor PT Assistants and Aides to ensure high-quality, consistent patient care
• Document patient care and follow up on prescriptions, test results, and authorizations to support continuity and billing
• Communicate effectively with physicians, co-workers, and other offices to coordinate care and advocate for patient needs
• Apply DX and ICD-10 coding and follow PT billing policies for Medicare, workers' comp, private pay, auto, liens, and cash pay
• Maintain HIPAA and OSHA compliance and promote a safe environment for patients and staff
• Be hands-on with manual patient handling, transfers, and gait safety to support patient independence and safety

Qualifications

• Degree in Physical Therapy (required)
• Active license as a Physical Therapist in the state of practice or eligibility to obtain one in the near future (California license required or in-process)
• Comfort with 8-10 hour clinic days and the physical demands of outpatient therapy, including lifting up to 50 pounds
• Experience with EMR systems and strong computer skills (Word, Internet, charting)
• Proficiency in ICD-10/DX coding and familiarity with Medicare and workers' compensation billing processes
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with physicians, front office staff, and patients
• Supervisory experience or willingness to supervise PT Assistants and Aides
• Commitment to HIPAA, OSHA, and patient privacy practices
• Outpatient/rehabilitation experience and continuing education are a plus

• Manual patient handling, transfers, and gait training
• Basic computer skills: typing, Word, Internet, and clinic software
• Strong interpersonal and team communication skills
• OSHA safety standards and clinic infection control practices
