Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT exams for NICU, CCU, ED, and other hospital departments to support timely diagnosis and treatment
• Operate CT scanners, modify technical settings, and optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure
• Conduct routine quality inspections and quality control maintenance per manufacturer and organizational guidelines
• Complete accurate and timely documentation for interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams
• Assist radiologists and medical staff during procedures and support patient care throughout imaging workflows
• Retrieve and verify written orders and pertinent health information to ensure safe, timely imaging
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and monitor performance against clinical indicators
• Train, mentor, and support peers to foster a collaborative and skilled imaging team

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAHEA-accredited Radiology program or equivalent
• ARRT R.T.(R) with advanced registry in CT (R.T.(CT)) — required
• American Heart Association BLS certification — required
• Minimum of 2 years radiology experience as a registered technologist
• Preferred: 1 year of prior CT experience in a Level I or II trauma center
• Ability to work varied shifts, participate in call rotation, and respond promptly when on-call

Education

• Graduate of CAHEA-accredited Radiology program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of CT imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy
• Skilled in CT scanner operation, image optimization, and radiation safety practices
• Experience with quality control maintenance and routine equipment inspections
• Excellent documentation and communication skills—verbal and written
• Ability to perform under pressure in a busy acute care environment and handle emotionally challenging situations
• Proficient with current computer applications and PACS or imaging systems used in the department
• Competent in patient positioning, transfer assistance, and safe handling of patients of varied needs
