Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients on the medical-surgical and telemetry unit with confidence and compassion
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and telemetry data to detect and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and according to protocol
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and follow-up care to support recovery
• Document patient care clearly and accurately in the electronic medical record
• Act as a patient advocate to ensure quality, safe, and respectful care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing required (compact license accepted where applicable)
• Current BLS required; ACLS and/or PALS preferred or available upon hire
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing and telemetry monitoring preferred
• Comfortable interpreting cardiac rhythms and responding to telemetry alarms
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care
• Ability to adapt to different clinical settings and workflows as a travel clinician

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Relevant certifications (BLS required, ACLS preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and ECG rhythm recognition
• Medical-surgical patient assessment and prioritization
• IV therapy, medication administration, and infusion pump management
• Familiarity with common hospital EMR systems and accurate documentation practices
• Infection control practices and patient safety protocols
• Effective patient and family education techniques
