Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients from adolescent to geriatric populations
• Assess, monitor and manage complex medical, surgical, cardiac and neurosurgical diagnoses
• Operate and manage advanced monitoring and life-support equipment following unit protocols
• Coordinate and communicate care plans with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
• Supervise and support CNA/LPN staff as assigned, promoting a safe and efficient unit
• Maintain professional nursing standards, accurate documentation and timely handoffs
• Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives and uphold system-wide profile standards

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required (MI license must be active at time of submission; provide LARA & Nursys verification)
• ACLS required
• BLS required
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience required
• Travel experience preferred
• Comfort and ability to float frequently to Step-down (SDU)
• Skills checklist completed within one year for RN specialties (required)
• Physical copies of certifications only required in profile if listed above
• Please note: Full-time employees of McLaren are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment

• Critical care nursing fundamentals and advanced assessment
• Cardiac monitoring and post-op cardiac care
• Neurosurgical patient monitoring and neuro assessments
• Medical-surgical nursing crossover skills for step-down care
• Ventilator management and hemodynamic support familiarity
• Clear, compassionate patient/family communication and education
• Strong teamwork, delegation and unit leadership skills
• Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate documentation
