Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for critically ill neurovascular patients in a 16-bed NVICU
• Perform and assist with critical procedures such as intubation, central line and arterial line placement, and EVD care
• Monitor complex hemodynamic and neurological status, recognizing and escalating changes promptly
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, RT, and specialty services to optimize outcomes
• Document care accurately in the Meditech EMR and maintain clear, timely communication with families
• Contribute to unit standards and participate in floating to other ICUs, BMT, and PCU floors as needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state of practice or compact licensure preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience, neuro or critical care experience a strong plus
• Current ACLS certification required
• Comfort with critical care procedures including intubation, central and arterial line management, and EVD care
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• Team-oriented, accountable, and compassionate bedside manner

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and clinical decision making
• Familiarity with neurovascular patient care and common ICU equipment
• Skill in advanced monitoring and hemodynamic management
• Experience with central and arterial line care and troubleshooting
• Ability to assist with or manage intubation and ventilator-related care
• Proficiency or willingness to learn Meditech documentation workflows
• Excellent communication with interdisciplinary teams and patient's families
• Adaptability to floating between ICUs, BMT, and PCU floors
