Shift Type: Rotating nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC, 12-hour night shifts with every-other-weekend coverage (every other weekend/no call)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality newborn care for stable and Level 2 infants including phototherapy and blood glucose monitoring
- Perform newborn assessments and ensure timely documentation in the EMR
- Collaborate closely with mothers, families and the multidisciplinary team to support mother-baby bonding and safe care transitions
- Operate and monitor nursery equipment and phototherapy units with confidence
- Respond to newborn needs and escalate concerns according to unit policy to keep babies safe
- Support unit workflows during night shift and contribute to a warm, family-centered environment
Qualifications
- Current RN license eligible for practice in Texas (state license or compact as required)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience as specified
- Required certifications: BLS and NRP
- Mother-baby experience strongly preferred and often required for consideration
- Comfort with Level 2 newborn care including phototherapy and blood glucose monitoring
- Familiarity with Meditech and CPN or other EMR systems preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in newborn care and Level 2 neonatal interventions
- Experience with phototherapy, blood glucose monitoring and routine newborn procedures
- Comfortable using Meditech and CPN electronic medical records
- Strong communication and family-centered care approach
- Ability to work independently on night shift and escalate clinical issues appropriately
- Warm, patient-focused bedside manner that supports new families
