Surgical Technologist
Location: Sitka, AK
Start Date: 06-14-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Tuesday-Friday, 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM, plus on-call coverage
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub in on advanced and complex surgical procedures under professional nurse supervision
- Anticipate surgeon preferences for instruments and supplies to keep procedures running smoothly
- Set up sterile tables with instruments, equipment, supplies, and medications needed for each case
- Monitor and maintain sterility of all materials to ensure the highest quality patient care
- Inventory and order supplies for assigned services to keep the OR fully stocked
- Develop educational programs and learning aids to support department growth
- Provide backup call coverage for emergency surgical cases
Qualifications
- Current Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) required at time of submission
- Current BLS certification required
- High School Diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- At least 1 year of experience preferred
- Must obtain flu vaccination prior to start
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a technologist training program accredited by CAAHEP or recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong sterile technique and instrument processing skills
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and surgical instrumentation
- Understanding of wound healing and potential complications
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient and surgeon needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
