Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; also 8-hour shifts 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM; self-scheduling with every other weekend and holiday
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to adolescents and adults in a locked inpatient psychiatric unit
- Build meaningful connections with patients experiencing depression, anxiety, substance use, and other behavioral health challenges
- Use strong de-escalation and communication skills to support a safe, healing environment
- Collaborate with mental health techs, occupational therapy, and social work to deliver holistic care
- Assist with 15-minute safety rounds and stay actively involved in every aspect of patient well-being
- Float throughout the hospital as a helping hand or for 1:1 observation when needed
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Dakota or compact license
- BLS certification required; CPI preferred
- Acute or inpatient psychiatric experience strongly preferred
- First-time travelers welcome; adolescent experience a plus
- Patience, calm demeanor, and a genuine passion for behavioral health
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent de-escalation and therapeutic communication
- Comfort working with both adolescent and adult populations
- Ability to stay calm and patient during challenging moments
- Team-oriented mindset with willingness to jump in wherever needed
