Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients with respiratory insufficiencies and develop individualized treatment plans
• Manage ventilator settings and perform ventilator checks for critically ill patients
• Deliver oxygen therapy, aerosolized treatments, CPAP/BiPAP support, and high-flow nasal cannula care
• Perform procedures such as suctioning and nebulizer therapy safely and effectively
• Document treatments and patient responses in Meditech clearly and promptly
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to optimize respiratory outcomes
• Participate in stroke education and other unit-focused initiatives to improve patient care
• Provide high-quality acute care for patients with conditions like asthma, pneumonia, and COPD

Qualifications

• NBRC credential required
• Active RT state license required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• At least one prior travel assignment required
• Previous Meditech experience preferred but not required
• Strong collaborative skills and an active, disciplinary approach to patient care

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management including familiarity with V60, Servo-1, and Servo-U
• High flow nasal cannula, CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizer therapy, and suction techniques
• Oxygen therapy and respiratory assessment skills
• Accurate respiratory documentation practices in Meditech
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Effective communication and collaborative physician relationships
• Stroke education practices and related respiratory considerations
