Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret rhythms to identify changes in patient status
- Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, and timely interventions
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
- Document clinical findings, interventions and patient responses accurately in the EHR
- Educate patients and families about condition, treatments and discharge instructions in a compassionate manner
- Escalate clinical concerns promptly to providers and participate in patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (California preferred)
- Telemetry nursing experience — comfortable monitoring and responding to cardiac rhythms
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
- Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills with telemetry patient population
- Ability to work per-diem shifts and adapt to unit processes quickly
- Good communication skills and teamwork mindset
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with cardiac telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
- Skilled in IV medication administration and titration per protocol
- Solid patient assessment and clinical decision-making abilities
- Clear, compassionate patient and family education skills
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
