Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care—assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient observations accurately
- Support safe patient transfers and use assistive devices as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
- Document care and patient interactions thoroughly and professionally
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) required
- Current state authorization to practice as a CNA in California (if applicable)
- Previous CNA experience preferred but new grads with strong training are welcome
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work per diem/as-needed schedules
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Education
- Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and basic nursing support skills
- Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
- Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Patient lifting and transfer techniques
- Teamwork, adaptability, and clear communication with clinical staff
