Roles & Responsibilities

  • Monitor telemetry strips and interpret cardiac rhythms promptly and accurately
  • Assess patients' clinical status and intervene to maintain safety and stability
  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy according to orders and protocols
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the chart
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions
  • Escalate changes in patient condition to providers in a timely, professional manner

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
  • Experience or comfort working on telemetry units and monitoring cardiac rhythms
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or obtainable
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to work overnight shifts and adapt to per diem scheduling

Education

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

  • Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
  • Patient assessment, including cardiac and respiratory systems
  • Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
  • Clear clinical documentation and handoff communication
  • Team collaboration, time management, and situational awareness
