Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative nursing assessments for pediatric patients with attention and compassion
• Prepare patients and families for procedures, providing clear, age-appropriate education
• Monitor and document vital signs and pre-op status accurately and promptly
• Assist the perioperative team with patient preparation and safe handoffs
• Administer medications and IVs per protocol and document care in the patient record
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, and the care team to ensure smooth workflow
• Support a positive patient and family experience through calm, reassuring care
• Participate in orientation and unit training to maintain high quality standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Missouri (required)
• Experience in pre-op and pediatric nursing (highlight any pediatric OR or pre-op experience)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained upon hire
• Strong clinical assessment and pediatric communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
• Comfortable with short, focused shift blocks and fast-paced pre-op workflows

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN/BSN) meeting RN licensure requirements
