Registered Nurse - Postpartum
Location: Tacoma, Washington
Start Date: 06-15-2026
End Date: 09-14-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 12-hour shifts with weekend and holiday requirements, plus possible call or standby if low census occurs
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate postpartum care to new mothers and their newborns
- Monitor and manage magnesium drips for patients with hypertensive disorders
- Support newborn transition and educate families on infant care
- Collaborate with OB and neonatology teams available 24/7
- Float to Labor & Delivery for normal newborn transition when needed
- Follow AWHONN guidelines to deliver safe, high-quality care
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Washington
- NRP and BLS certifications required
- Experience with newborn transition and post-delivery magnesium management
- Comfortable titrating magnesium drips and caring for high-risk postpartum patients
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment skills for pre-eclampsia, diabetes, and substance use disorders
- Ability to read fetal monitoring strips and respond to changes
- Excellent communication with families and the interdisciplinary team
- Flexibility to float between postpartum and labor & delivery units
