Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients as they recover from surgery
Monitor vital signs, airway status and level of consciousness, intervening promptly when needed
Administer medications and manage pain per protocol, with careful documentation
Communicate clearly and empathetically with families and the perioperative team
Perform focused assessments and ensure safe handoffs to the inpatient team or discharge
Participate in orientation, unit training and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
Experience in PACU or pediatric nursing is highly desirable
Current BLS required; PALS preferred and ACLS as applicable
Comfortable with pediatric airway management, pain control and post-anesthesia monitoring
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Ability to complete required orientation and competency validations

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in pediatric assessment and age-appropriate care
Knowledge of post-anesthesia monitoring, emergence delirium and pain management
Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration and monitoring equipment
Solid documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
Ability to collaborate effectively with anesthesia, surgeons and family members
