Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the operating room, ensuring safety and comfort before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to maintain a sterile field and efficient workflow
• Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and document care according to hospital policies
• Assist in positioning patients and preparing the operating room for surgeries
• Educate patients and families about perioperative care and discharge instructions
• Adhere to infection control protocols and uphold quality standards

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maine
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (within 30 days of hire)
• Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room experience
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work day shifts and adapt to changing schedules

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Operating Room nursing procedures and sterile technique
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Patient assessment and critical thinking
• Team collaboration and multi-tasking
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR)
