Medical Records Director - Health Information Management
Location: Globe, Arizona
Start Date: 06-30-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all Health Information Management operations in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital
- Ensure regulatory compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards
- Manage medical records processes, coding quality, and data integrity
- Supervise and support HIM staff in a fast-paced rural hospital environment
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with clinical teams to maintain complete and timely documentation
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Health Information Management (HIM)
- Prior leadership or director-level experience in HIM preferred
- Ability to quickly adapt and provide hands-on support in a small hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and medical record management
- Excellent communication and team-building skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in medical records management and coding processes
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Joint Commission, and CMS regulations
- Proficiency with HIM software and electronic health records (EHR)
- Ability to analyze data and ensure data integrity
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
