Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care during overnight shifts to patients of varied acuity
• Perform comprehensive assessments and communicate changes in condition promptly to the care team
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and according to policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized patient plans
• Document care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and care coordination
• Actively participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care and patient safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (California license preferred/required depending on facility)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS/PALS as required by unit
• Previous RN experience in acute care, med-surg, or similar clinical setting preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently overnight
• Current immunizations and ability to pass facility onboarding/background checks
• Reliable, professional, and patient-focused with excellent communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
• Familiarity with triage, assessment, and acute care protocols
• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making abilities
• Good time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Effective team collaboration and clear shift-to-shift communication
• Infection control practices and patient safety standards
