Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality intrapartum, delivery and postpartum nursing care to laboring patients and newborns
• Perform continuous fetal monitoring and interpret tracings to inform safe clinical decisions
• Administer medications and infusions safely, including magnesium sulfate when indicated
• Support patient-centered birth plans and promote vaginal birth opportunities aligned with patient preferences
• Circulate in the OR for cesarean deliveries when needed and assist with intrapartum procedures such as IUPC and FSE
• Respond to postpartum hemorrhage events using established protocols and the JADA system
• Document care accurately in CPN and Meditech to ensure continuity and compliance
• Collaborate with midwives, CRNAs, OB physicians and neonatal providers to deliver seamless couplet care

Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS and NRP certifications
• Fetal monitoring certification and proven competency interpreting strips
• Experience with intrapartum procedures (IUPC, FSE) and circulating in the OR
• Familiarity with magnesium sulfate administration and postpartum hemorrhage management
• Comfort documenting in CPN and Meditech and working with a laborist/midwife team
• Willingness to work rotating nights and fulfill weekend shift requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Fetal monitoring and strip interpretation
• Intrapartum procedures: IUPC, FSE
• Postpartum hemorrhage protocols and JADA system
• Medication administration including MgSO4
• Documenting in CPN and Meditech electronic health records
• Couplet care and newborn support practices
• Ability to circulate in OR and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with nitrous oxide use, STABLE and Spinning Babies concepts helpful
