Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour schedule, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (primarily weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays; every-other-weekend coverage). Night shift, rotating holiday coverage required.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adults in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond promptly to dysrhythmias and emergencies
• Perform IV starts, maintain IVs, and manage central and peripheral lines safely
• Document thoroughly and efficiently using Epic to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners (PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Work) to coordinate patient-centered care
• Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed to support patient census and staffing
• Care for patients with post-transplant needs and complex medical conditions, applying critical thinking to prioritize interventions

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of PCU/stepdown experience (strong stepdown/PCU background preferred)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Demonstrated experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Proficient in Epic charting and documentation
• Skilled in IV therapy and IV starts; experience with central lines, PICCs, and port management a plus
• Willingness to float within the organization to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required per facility guideline
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and telemetry patient care
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management
• IV therapy, IV starts, and central/peripheral line care
• Epic electronic medical record proficiency
• Blood product administration and port/PICC management
• Management of post-transplant patients (renal, liver, pancreas) and related complications
• Experience with endocrine protocols including IV insulin drips and titration
• Non-invasive airway management and use of specialty equipment such as bladder scanners and dopplers
