Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living — ambulation, feeding, bathing and toileting with dignity and compassion
• Obtain and record vital signs and other observations accurately using bedside equipment
• Support safe patient transfers and use lift equipment (Hoyer, bariatric ceiling lifts) per protocols
• Perform routine catheter care, wound care assistance, and help with specimen collection as directed
• Document care clearly and promptly in Epic and report changes in patient condition
• Follow infection control procedures, don/remove PPE, and help maintain a clean, safe environment
• Collaborate with nurses, respiratory, PT, pharmacy and other support teams to deliver coordinated care
• Be ready to float to other units as needed to meet patient and department needs

Qualifications

• Active Oregon CNA license in hand (required)
• Minimum 6 months (0.5 year) of patient care experience—acute care/med-surg experience preferred
• BLS certification preferred
• Comfortable using Hoyer lifts, transfer belts, and other ADL equipment
• Experience or comfort with Epic charting preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and every-other-weekend rotation
• Ability to safely lift and assist patients and follow proper body mechanics

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in activities of daily living, turning/repositioning and pressure injury prevention
• Proficient with vital signs (including orthostatics) and pulse oximetry
• Experience with glucose point-of-care testing and routine catheter care
• Wound care assistance and familiarity with drains and dressings
• Good documentation and reporting skills (bath/diet/drain output/turning records)
• Solid infection control practices and PPE use
• Comfortable with bedside equipment: glucometer, stretchers, specialty beds and SCDs
