Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality bedside care for PCU/Stepdown telemetry patients, typically at a 1:3 ratio
• Perform IV starts and phlebotomy with precision and patient-centered technique
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias with clinical confidence
• Manage cardiac drips and heparin protocols and coordinate escalation when titration is needed in ICU
• Deliver respiratory support including High Flow Nasal Cannula and collaborate with respiratory therapy
• Perform central and peripheral line care and maintain strict infection control practices
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure seamless care continuity
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, participate in rapid response, and support patient throughput

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of PCU/Stepdown experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Demonstrated telemetry experience and ability to interpret dysrhythmias
• Proven IV start skills; IV therapy and phlebotomy experience preferred
• Comfort with heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), and IV insulin protocols
• Ability to float to equivalent or lower acuity units as needed
• Flu vaccine required per facility policy (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• IV therapy, IV start, and phlebotomy
• Central and peripheral line care and management
• Heparin protocol knowledge and cardiac drip management
• Experience with High Flow Nasal Cannula
• IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration
• Proficiency charting in EPIC and working within interdisciplinary teams
