Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (self-schedule, includes day and night coverage). Typical shift start/end times include: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Night-focused options available; every-other-weekend requirement. Schedule varies by assignment and is self-scheduled (includes weekdays and weekends).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a mixed PCU/Oncology/MedSurg unit — every interaction matters
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy and other complex medications safely and per protocol
• Manage ventilators and advanced hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000) to keep critically ill patients stable
• Perform safe titration of drips (insulin, cardizem, heparin, etc.) and respond to changing patient conditions
• Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity of care and clear communication
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (PT/OT, case managers, social work, dietician) to create comprehensive plans
• Participate in hourly rounding, patient education, and discharge planning to improve patient experience

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Nebraska or compact) in good standing
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience required (posting notes 2 years as preferred) and PCU/oncology or med-surg experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS required (NIHSS listed as required in posting)
• ONS/ONCC or chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
• Comfortable with ventilator care and hemodynamic monitoring — unit will provide real-time training for many competencies
• Able to pass orientation skills exam (open-book) with a 90% score — orientation includes resources to help you succeed
• Valid driver’s license at time of submission (radius rule applies)

Education

• ADN, diploma, or BSN accepted (BSN not required per posting)
• Ongoing professional development encouraged

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with EPIC charting and documentation workflows
• Familiarity with Alaris IV pump operation and safe infusion practices
• Experience with ventilator management and monitoring respiratory support
• Skilled in hemodynamic assessment and monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000)
• Comfort administering and monitoring chemotherapy and other oncology-specific therapies
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills
