Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality transthoracic (TTE) and transesophageal (TEE) echocardiograms using best practices to ensure accurate diagnostic images
• Conduct stress echocardiography (exercise and dobutamine) and contrast/bubble studies safely and effectively
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams across inpatient, outpatient, ER and cath lab settings to support patient care
• Document examinations in the EMR (Athena, Meditech, PICOM) and communicate findings clearly to the care team
• Maintain equipment readiness and follow infection control and safety protocols
• Provide patient-centered care—explain procedures, ensure comfort, and respond to questions with empathy
• Participate in rotating on-call coverage, responding promptly for urgent imaging needs

Qualifications

• RDCS (or equivalent cardiac sonography credential) required
• Current AHA BLS certification required (include AHA BLS skills sheet with submission)
• Credential documentation requested: CCI (CVCCI) or ARDMS
• Experience with TTE, TEE, contrast (Optison/Definity) and bubble studies
• Proven experience with exercise and dobutamine stress echo protocols
• Comfortable working across inpatient, outpatient, ER and cath lab environments
• Available for rotating evening/night/weekend on-call coverage
• Left-handed sonographers and those with pediatric TTE experience encouraged to apply (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on expertise with Philips EPIC and Philips CX50 imaging systems
• Familiarity with Siemens ACUSON SC2000 and Siemens Origin platforms
• Proficient documentation and workflow experience in Athena, Meditech and PICOM
• Strong patient communication skills and the ability to work well on a collaborative team
• Adaptability to varied clinical settings (ER, cath lab, outpatient clinics, inpatient wards)
• Detail-oriented approach to image acquisition, measurements and reporting
