Roles & Responsibilities
- Greet patients and employer contacts with a friendly, professional manner and handle inquiries efficiently
- Schedule and manage appointments, coordinating needs across multiple providers and staff
- Provide clinical support including specimen collection and occupational testing per clinic protocols
- Perform or assist with spirometry, audiometry, urine drug screening, and breath alcohol testing when certified
- Maintain accurate electronic records using MS Office and clinic computer applications
- Support clerical duties: answer phones, file documentation, and ensure smooth clinic flow
- Coordinate OSHA-required medical surveillance and employer-requested services with attention to compliance
- Safely use your personal vehicle for work-related travel and maintain required documentation (license/insurance)
Qualifications
- BLS (Healthcare Provider) — required
- One of the following required: Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant, OR current unencumbered Oregon EMT or Paramedic license
- Valid Oregon driver’s license and auto liability/property damage insurance (personal vehicle use required)
- Experience with MS Office and general computer applications
- Current DOT Collector and Breath Alcohol Technician certifications preferred (candidates with these will be given preference)
- Certifications or training in urine drug screening, spirometry, and audiometry preferred
- Medical terminology, medical office, and/or billing experience preferred
Education
- Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant OR Oregon EMT/Paramedic licensure
- BLS (Healthcare Provider) required
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical support and patient care fundamentals in an occupational health setting
- Appointment scheduling and front-desk/clerical workflow management
- Proficiency with MS Office and electronic health/computer applications
- Specimen collection and point-of-care occupational testing procedures (DOT testing, breath alcohol)
- Basic understanding of OSHA-required medical surveillance
- Strong communication, organization, and multi-tasking skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology and clinic billing processes
